Why does my outlook toolbar not show in outlook?

JC

I hae downloaded the outlook tool bar. I have outlook 2007. The todoist tool bar shows as checked, and the todoist list shows on the right, but the tool bar only has "add to todoist" and the todoist toolbar shows as faded in the list of toolbars when I click on the toolbar area at the top, whereas the other toolbars show darkened (statndard, advanced)

Is there any more to the tool bar? It looks different than in your video on the outlook add-in.

Hello Jan,

please go to Outlook's Trust Center (should be in the Tools menu in Outlook 2007) and in the Add-ins section, you'll see "COM Add-ins" in a drop-down menu and a "Go" button next to it.

Click on the "Go" button and you'll see a list of all your plugins with check-boxes next to them. Check the box next to Todoist and a Todoist panel should appear on the right side of Outlook.

Best regards,
David

Hi, I have downloaded the recent version. The toolbar appeared on the right last week. today it is gone. When i go to the Add-ins, there is a check already next to Todoist. Also tried once to click ADD. Still does not appear in Outlook. I am using Outlook 2010 and Windows 7.

Hello DALogan,

please try to either access the "add-ons" tab at the top and click on "Todoist" or go to the Options -> Add-ins -> click "Go" next to "COM Add-ins" and then un-check the OutlookTodoist plugin, save changes, then check it back again.

David

i removed the program, i thought before trying this. I don't think i removed the program all the way because i tried to download the pug-in again and it said that the latest was already on my computer. in outlook, the Todoist plugin does not appear now. so, my computer it telling me it is there and i can get to the .exe through my c drive but Outlook does not see it.

DALogan,

please tell me:
- Can you see "OutlookTodoist" listed in the Add/Remove Programs menu in the Control Panel? If you do - uninstall it from there.
- Can you see the Todoist plugin in the COM Add-ins section in Outlook's options (see - my previous answer)?
- Are you the only user on your computer with full Administrative rights? If not - can you see "OutlookTodoist" in the Add/Remove Programs menu when logged in with another account?

Best regards,
David

no i do not see Outlook Todotist in the add/remove programs, which looks like it is Programs and Features in Windows 7.

No i did not see the COM Add-ins in Outlook. Tried your previous answer

I am the only one on this computer. Of course it is a work computer so my 'administrative' rights are limited somewhat, but I can add and remove programs.

DALogan,

have you contacted your system administrator if this plugin hasn't been removed (or blocked) on your account?

I haven't contacted them yet. The plug-in was working for about two weeks. That is why i wanted to get it back working because i got really used to using it.

DALogan,

so far, we've had reports about the plugin deactivating itself sometimes and we're already working on fixing this issue, however in such cases, it always stays listed on the installed programs list as well as on the COM Add-ins list in Outlook.

According to your report, it is theoretically possible that the system administrator revoked your permission to use it at some point, however it hasn't been actually removed from the system. To exclude such option, it would indeed be great if you would ask the administrator about it.

Best regards,
David
