Task showing multiple times, should only show once

HK

Hello. I have a certain task that keep showing up five times in a row, rather than just once. I've tried deleting it and recreating it, and I keep getting the same result. Any ideas? Thanks...

Hello Honz,

please clarify - you click on "Add task" within a project, type the task name, click "Enter" (or "Save") and at this point 5 tasks with the same name are being added simultaneously?

If so, please tell me:
- What browser are you using?
- Can you reproduce this issue in a different browser?
- Are you accessing Todoist directly through the website or through a plugin (if so - which one)?

Best regards,
David

Good morning, David. Thank you for the prompt response. My to do list must be visible on my desktop---having to go onto the web to view and work with it is an inconvenience I am not willing to accept in this technologically progressive era. I'm running Windows 7 64bit, so I use the Windows Live Calendar gadget as a means to view and work with my Todoist tasks directly from my desktop. This generally works fine, however, for just one particular task, it is displayed five times in a row, rather than just once. No matter how many times I have deleted and recreated it, it's always displayed five times. The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with it being a scheduled-to-repeat task that falls on the last day of every month. (All of my tasks are scheduled to repeat once monthly, but this is the only one that falls on the last day of each month.)

I know you are ostensibly unable to offer support on this issue because I am using the gadget, but as a new premium user, what I would really like to hear is that you guys are working on your own desktop gadget that would allow me to "eliminate the middleman" of the Windows Live Calendar gadget, and work directly with something you guys created, which would greatly decrease the possibility of there being any bugs. From what I have read online, I know I am not the only one that yearns for this functionality. I think if you guys could make this happen, even if only as a feature for premium users, you would see a substantial increase in your premium subscriber base.

Thank you for your assistance and consideration. Kind regards...

Honz,

we will most likely release a desktop app in the future. For now, you could try out our browser plugins for Firefox, Chrome or Todoist Anywhere for other browsers which would allow you to access Todoist regardless of what website you're viewing (and even add its URL as a task).

It's still not a desktop solution you're looking for, but could be a good alternative for now.

As for the issue you're experiencing, it would be very helpful if you would post the exact due date you're using with this task and it could help us identify, reproduce and fix this issue (if its related to our iCal feed).

Best regards,
David

Exact due date is "every last day" as in every last day of the month. If you let me know the support e-mail address, I can send some screen captures to your attention.

Honz,

unfortunately, I can't reproduce this issue.

To identify whether this is a specific issue with the feed or with the calendar software you're using, it would be very helpful, if you could try to import your iCal feed to Google's Calendar and see if it also occurs there.

Note - to import an iCal feed to Google's Calendar, you need to use the small arrow icon next to "other calendars" in the left-hand menu.

Best regards,
David

Whatever you did fixed it! The task is only displaying once now, like it's supposed to, like all the others... THANKS!
