Allegheny iPhone App (new app for todoist)

Hi, I don't mean to take up your bandwidth so please forgive me. Our todoist app for iOS has just been approved and is now available in the App Store so I wanted to let the users here know. It's different in the way it works from the current todoist app so I'm hoping that this is good for us all. It's called "Allegheny" and you can find it by searching in the app store. Please check it out and forgive me again for posting here.

Hello Andrew,

thank you for the information, we appreciate your interest in Todoist and we would love to promote your application. However, we've encountered some bugs while trying it out, for example:
- after logging into our accounts, none of our data was there when the sync finished,
- when we've tried to create a new user, the application crashed.

Please check out these issues and let us know if you can reproduce and fix them and we'll announce the release of your app.

I had exactly the same problem with this Allegheny app. Kept crashing when I created a new user and it does not recognize my todoist account

Hi, thanks for checking out the app and getting back to me. This is the worst news I could get. I've had the app tested thoroughly and never ran into these issues. I will look into this immediately, could you both tell me what model iPhones you have and what versions of iOS you are running? I hope you'll be patient enough to try again once this is fixed because a lot of work was put into the app to make it as much like the site itself as possible while still taking advantage of iOS features. My apologies.

Ok, I've tested it myself again and had a few friends test but cannot reproduce any crashes at all let alone creating an account or signing in with an existing one. Could you send me your crash reports? Please see this post as to how to do that:

Also, we can continue our discussion in that forum as I feel bad taking up todoist.com resources for this. Thanks again for your patience, I'd really like to stamp out any fires so that it works for everyone.

I downloaded the app and although I had one crash after setting up the account, my data did in fact sync. I also was able to add a task and check that it synced with Todoist web - no problem.

Love the design of the UI and think you have a killer app. Would love to see you add the ability to view completed tasks like Blue Tick. Do that and fix the crashing and I'd gladly pay for the app.

Hey Andrew - I would like to report back that I had the same problem. The first time nothing worked but subsequently everything seems to be okay.

The interface looks very nice and clean. I wish there was a list of completed tasks, a link to the completed graph and a way to add task directly into the application instead of first choosing a project.

Overall this is the best todoist app I have seen. Just make sure you fix the crashes.

Thanks, well it's good to know that it doesn't prevent you from using the app entirely. It seems to be happening on the 4S only, maybe as more people start to use it I'll be able to get some crash reports and figure it out. I've made a note of your feature requests as well. Thanks again.

Hi: Allegheny (Andrew), please review my Todoist ticket from this past March 21st titled "Completed Tasks showing No Check Boxes to undo tasks" as it's related to Allegheny. Allegheny looks great and touch-wise integrates nicely with the Todoist API, however I checked a sub-task through Allegheny and it somehow sent it and its sub-sub-tasks into the completed bucket. I was unable to restore them from the app, and when I returned back to the browser version of Todoist I also could not uncheck them. This was because these sub-tasks somehow got deleted without the parent tasks, and only completed parent tasks can be unchecked/undone in Todoist. This locked me out of the completed sub-tasks and I had to recreate them since they could not be restored. This is not possible to do through the regular Todoist interface or apps, so it may be possible something in Allegheny caused this when interfacing with the Todoist API. Just wanted to let you know.
