Found a bug in dates

M

Hi,

I am currently traveling in Egypt for a few months. I have noticed that I have to enter the date in a task as "everyday at 3 pm" in order for it to show up as 'tomorrow at 8 am'. I assume my settings are on eastern standard time without daylight savings (egypt is only 6 hours ahead, not 7 right now). Anyway, shouldn't we be able to just enter 8 am and it be 8 am wherever we are, instead of having to enter in 7 hours ahead?

Love the site!

Regards,

Me

Also, I figure that when I go back to the USA - I will have to change all of my recurring tasks since they are set 7 hours ahead. Or, I have done a stupid thing by setting them all ahead and they will all show up at USA time instead of here time. We will see.

Hello,

please tell me - did you change the timezone in your Todoist preferences when you came to Egypt?

In order to keep times in sync, it's necessary to always change the timezone to the one you're using on your computer (both to the timezone you're currently in.

Best regards,
David

No, I didn't change them to Egypt time. I left them USA time. If I change them to Egypt time, and then change them back to USA time when I return, then they will just display whatever I entered originally? Like if I put everyday 8 am when I am in the usa, then change my timezone to egypt when I am in Egypt, it will show 8 am egypt time? And when I return and reset my timezone to USA time, it will show 8 am USA time? So I won't have to change them individually? If so - great!

Yes, it should display the correct time as long as you always adjust your timezone whenever you're on travel.
