Why are label lengths limited to 20 chars?

J

I can understand some length limitation, however, a limit of 20 is too few. That amount of space gives me no real ability to provide for a label grouping code plus a descriptive name.

Seems like limitations like that would have died long ago as disk space prices have been reduced to next to nothing. I would suggest a limit of 255 chars. Why impose arbitrary limitations on something like that?

Thanks,
Joey

Hello Joey,

this limitation might be a result of the way labels are stored and attached to single task objects. I will forward this issue to the developers and we'll see what can be done to improve this.

Thank you for your feedback and sorry for any inconvenience.

Best regards,
David

Joey,

according to the developers this is indeed a limitation due to the way the labels are stores. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

We may consider changing this in the future, though. You're welcome to add a request to the Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/
