Calendar Integration Broken?

AD

I had my todoist calendar set up to sync with google calendar and ical for some time. Roughly in mid-January it stopped updating/adding my tasks on the calendars.

I deleted the todoist feeds to the calendars, and tried setting them up again.

I am getting the following errors:

Google Calendar: "cannot fetch url"

Ical: "There was an error subscribing to the calendar. There was an unexpected error with the request on subscribed calendars (error -1)."

After reading some of the posts, it seems like there may be an issue with due dates? Todoist is allowing us to enter dates that it does not support?

I have noticed a change in the way due dates are handled:

When I type in "Monday" (today is Sat Feb 11) todoist quickly reformats the date to show 13.Feb.2012 in the field. This change very quick and temporary as it then switches to show Feb-13 in the field. Once closed the task says it was "moved to Monday". Interestingly, when I select the task and look at the due date, it shows "13/2 2012" in the field.

It does appear as though Google calendar will accept this format "13/2 2012" (I typed it in a new event on Google Calendar). I may be that they do not accept that format as a feed, or import.

Anyway, I am using Firefox 10.0 on a Macbook Pro and the Todoist 2.5 Add-On . I also have set up tasks using the Android Mobile Apps: Todoist Droid by Numa Ridge, and Todoist Client v2.02 by Lightful Designs.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Hello Andrew,

unfortunately, I can't reproduce this issue.

Please tell me:
- Are you using many recurring tasks? If so, please make sure all of them use the proper due date format (all supported formats are listed here: https://todoist.com/Help/timeInsert ).
- Have you tried inserting the iCal URL though different browsers?
- When you re-add the iCal feed, do you previously unsubscribe from the calendar (My Calendars -> Settings -> Unsubscribe)?

Best regards,
David

I have the same problem linking my todoist to google calendar, i.e., I get the same message: "cannot fetch url". I am in Chrome & nothing I have tried works. I'm assuming that the calendar linkage to your gmail calendar is just broken.

Hello Richard,

unfortunately, I can't reproduce this issue.

Please tell me:
- Does clearing your browser cache solve this issue?
- Does this issue also occur in a different browser?
- Are all due dates in your tasks set according to this list of supported date formats: https://todoist.com/Help/timeInsert ?
- When you re-add the iCal feed, do you previously unsubscribe from the calendar (My Calendars -> Settings -> Unsubscribe)?

Best regards,
David
