What's wrong with Outlook Addin? Not working correctly in Outlook 2010 64bit version?
Every time when I startup Outlook (not every time, but 5 out of 10 startups), I must manually enable "Todoist Addin" throught Menu->File->Options->Add-Ins->COM-> and must check manualy to enable "OutlookTodoist" (file:///C:/Users/Admin/AppData/Local/Temp/TodoistForOutlook1_3/OutlookTodoist.vsto)
It is one of the things for which I bought Todoist, Outlook integration. But it is difficult to work with it in Outlook.
It also happens quite regularly that the editing task by pressing a combination of these keys: Home + End + Enter ... stop working Backspace and Delete. (When editing task, which I had previously created by clicking on the email. I mean task which contains [[outlook=000XXXXXX, email text...]]).
Workaround is: move the mouse cursor to another window within Outlook and then go back to editing task. Again, start Backspace and Delete work.
I assumed Todoist simple application is a minimalist. But unfortunately, it almost does not work correctly. I like to help in solving these ills.
Integration with Outlook is a key issue for me.
Working on some other more reliable version of the Outlook plugin? Or this is the last planned version (therefore useless for me)? Not supporting 64-bit version of Outlook? Or I do something wrong? Also, I tried to uninstall and reinstall Outlook Todoist Addin. No change for the better.
My Outlook version is: 14.0.6112.5000 (64bit) Czech Lang.
IE version is: 9.0.8112.16421 (9.0.4 KB2618444)

we're very sorry for the inconvenience. We are aware about this issue and are working on it right now. All our plugins as well as the Todoist web app itself are constantly being improved and developed.
It would be very helpful if you would remove the plugin using the Add/Remove Programs option from the Control Panel (listed as OutlookTodoist) and then try to install this version: https://d3vr1s9r6o6gn8.cloudfront.net/a7b64068ba19cfdf7c3b9b32905bab8c/as/install_v1.2.rar and let us know if it fixes this issue.
As for the BACKSPACE issue - I can't reproduce it. Please describe step-by-step what exact action triggers this issue and what it affects (is BACKSPACE and DEL locked within the Todoist plugin or Outlook) and we will also fix this in a future revision of our plugin.

Your version (1.2) is better than existing one.
Issue with BACKSPACE disappeared too.
But new one issue with editing task and "focus on cursor".

I've been trying to use the Outlook add-in for weeks now. It never starts when Outlook starts. I always have to go into the Trust center and check it again. This is a royal pain.
I was wondering if the file you linked above would work on my system: Outlook 2007, Win 7 64-bit.
Have you tried to install a test version 1.2 (link above)?
as Martin said, please try to install this version: https://d3vr1s9r6o6gn8.cloudfront.net/a7b64068ba19cfdf7c3b9b32905bab8c/as/install_v1.2.rar but before you do, remove the previous plugin using "Add/Remove Programs" from the Control Panel (it will be listed as OutlookTodoist).
I installed this latest version and it hasn't improved. Still having to start the add-in manually through the Trust Center every time I start Outlook.
Now hoping someone will create a macro to do this process so at least we could have one button to click instead of six.
Outlook plugin is real disaster guys:
Backspace does not work occasionally
Links to outlook emails are almost always broken (this is the feature why I first switched to todoist)
Manual start is required almost all the time. Your guidance to add remove and "try"to install something else does not really work since I do not have admin rights and to install just for try purposes takes my at least half day to negotiate with IT support and get this done...
Is there some fix for the issues above in the air that would be sure to work (instead of try?). If not I would need to go back to something more reliable (but will be sorry about this since I really enjoy convenience adding all kinds of links - gmail, outlook, webpages, if you could link to one note/evernote notes I would be in love and might survive outlook issues)...
We're very sorry for the inconvenience. The latest pre-release version which should address this issue is: https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/23ba6af99340be5655be8317812129dd/as/OutlookTodoist.Adx.RC.exe but we will soon release the final fixed version which you could then install at work.
Please note that with Todoist Premium, you wouldn't need the Outlook plugin to manage emails with Todoist - you could send/forward messages directly to your Todoist projects and the entire message would be added as a task note. They wouldn't be linked, but this way, you could access the content from anywhere.
I was a premium user and plan to be further once those issues are properly addressed. I have been using toodledo previously which already had emailing tasks enabled.
This is something that I do not want to use. I need a client in which I click on the link and original email is opened (as in gmail) and I will be able to answer to original email conversation. If I email the task - this is not possible and I need to go to outlook to look for the email conversation to answer. + todoist lacks functionality of having email attachement added to the task when emailed (as toodledo has already). Therefore Outlook plugin (reliable and working one) is really the only killer feature and the only reason I would stick with todoist. Can I ask about the clarification of the "soon"to be released? Weeks or months? Thanks a lot David for such quick answers and I hope that this issues will really be eliminated. BR
Although we can't give you any exact timeframe on the new release, it's rather weeks than months. The version I posted above already addresses most of the features so after some further changes, we'll have the final version ready for publish in near future (we'll announce it on our social media channels - FB, G+ and Twitter).
When typing words in Todoist addin on Outlook2010 win7 64bit , it always duplicate the word , like entering pass word in log in interface, or adding note or date in a task.
It's a very anoying bug. Could you guys help fix it ?
