Marking tasks as completed in a search view

SJ

When I am looking through my tasks that are due today (i.e. query: today, overdue) I will mark tasks as completed. However, when I go back to the project view, these tasks are marked as completed (this is the expected behavior), but they have not been moved to the completed task list and are still visible within the task list. I know when I am marking something as complete in the project view, in order to move it to the completed tasks, I need to press SHIFT + check the box. How do I move the task to the completed task list while in the search view?

Hello Shari,

the SHIFT+click option only works if you want to force a sub-task to be moved to the completed tasks list at the bottom of the project view.

If a task is recurring, you will be able to "complete" it by checking it off which will result in:
- pushing its due date to the next occurrence according to the used formula,
- placing one "completed" event on the "X Completed" list accessible at the top of the screen.

It will not remove the task from the project list to the "completed tasks" list at the bottom because since it's recurring, it will be used in the future. In order to delete such task, you can click on the gear icon visible on the right end of the task name when hovering over it and choose "Delete" from the drop-down menu, but please note that after such action, this task will never "come back" when it reaches its next event.

For example, a task with a "every day" due date will not show up tomorrow if you delete it.

Best regards,
David

This is not for a recurring task.

Shari,

please tell me:
- What exact due date are you using in this task?
- Is this a parent task or a sub-task?

Best regards,
David

Shari,

it seems that the SHIFT+Click option doesn't work in the search result view. Thank you for pointing out this issue, I have forwarded it to the developers.

For now, in order to force a sub-task to the history, please use the SHIFT+Click function only within the particular project.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David
