completed tasks not moved to history

DB

I have a couple of completed tasks in my history and a couple of tasks that are checked off but have not been moved. I have noticed that these items are "grouped" inside another task (I used the asterisk so that the group mother is not "checkable"). As I check the tasks, they are not moved to the history and remain in a "checked" state inside the group.

For one of my groups, all tasks are checked and they still do not move.

Thanks in advance

Diogo

Hello Diogo,

please tell me - are all tasks under the *-task indented (level 2 sub-tasks of the main *-task)?

If so, please use non-indented level 1 tasks under a *-task otherwise they will never be automatically moved to history until you delete the asterisk and check off the main task.

If you did not indent any of the task, please tell me:
- Which browser are you using?
- Are you experiencing this issue in a different browser?
- Are you accessing Todoist directly through the website or through a plugin (if so - which one)?
- From what view are you trying to complete the tasks (project view, search result etc.)?

Best regards,
David

Hello David

My case falls under the category you mentioned above, with all tasks under the *-task indented (level 2 sub-tasks of the main *-task).

I would like to suggest the possibility of changing this for the future. I feel a need to categorize and just the project menu is not sufficient. For instance, in my project "Personal", I like to divide items into "Car", "Home", "Travel" and so forth, but would not like to pollute my projects by creating 50 of them. I would like an option were these items were assigned to completed tasks or set to visible or invisible. This would greatly improve my experience with the app.

Thanks in advance

Diogo

Hello Diogo,

thank you for your suggestion, we appreciate it and will consider adding such option (to move level 2 tasks to the completed list IF their parent task is a *-task) in future development.

For now, as a workaround, you can use level 1 tasks under a *-task and this way, completeng them will move them to history right away.

Best regards,
David

there's just one problem, I can't sort the tasks by date or priority anymore or I'll get them out of order...

I have one bug now, on the "today" and "7 days" view, some of my tasks are "grouping" others, although I have now just level 1 tasks. Is this a temporary bug that will go away in time?

Best rgds

Hello Diogo,

please try to force-reload the page (both - in the today/7 days view and in the project view).

If this doesn't help, please try to re-enter two grouped tasks (delete them and enter the same tasks again as level 1 task with the same date, in the same project etc.) and see if they still appear as grouped.

If they do, please tell me the exact properties of these tasks (do they share the same label, due date, priority, were they moved from a different project etc.).

Best regards,
David

Hello David

The task showed up grouped just in the today/7 days view. When I deleted the tasks in the project view, it deleted several tasks (the "grouped tasks"). Then I clicked undo, the tasks recovered and the "grouping" ceased in the today/7day view.

It's weird this happened, but apparently, it went away now.

Thanks

Diogo
