Loop error on recurring task, every other Tuesday

Info: adding recurring task [time-sheet due] for every other Tuesday starting today. Steps listed below. Question/notation listed below that.

Step1-
I enter the phrase: ev other tue starting aug 23 in the due date box. [which converts to: every other tue starting Aug 23, when task is looked at.]

Step2-
I click the check-box as I've done this task today.

Step3-
Complete button (revolving circle) spins but never stops.

Step4-
Mark other tasks. Repeating task mentioned above is never marked as complete, just keeps spinning.

Though I've tried to add this same task multiple times; not just today and get the same result.

Please let me know if I am doing something wrong or if the program cannot handle this type of request. Thank you!!

Hello Aly,

unfortunately, this date format is not supported by Todoist. You can find a complete list of supported dates here:
https://todoist.com/Help/timeInsert

In order to properly set up a task recurring every other Tuesday since Aug, 23rd, please use the following formula:

every 14 days starting 23. aug 2011

please note that you have to use the year at the end if the starting date has already passed otherwise Todoist will automatically set the date to 2012 - the next available August 23rd.

Best regards,
David

Thank you for the quick and detailed reply!

The formatting you gave me worked. =)

Have a great day!

I ran into this issue too, and I'm happy to find the solution.

However, I want to note that the help is really not clear about the proper format. Since "every other day" can be used, I assumed it was also fine to use "every other Monday starting aug 29." I think it would be helpful to add the every 14 days example to the help.

Also, I would have expected an invalid date error, which I don't get for "every other Monday starting aug 29." Interestingly, I get an error for "every other Monday," so the lack of an error for "every other Monday starting aug 29" seems like an oversight.

Thanks.
