Data gone?

BP

I opened ToDoist this morning and all my open items are gone. All the categories I created are there, but there's not a single item in them. Please tell me you are aware of the issue and restoring the data.

Me too - where is my data???? There is still a non-zero number by certain projects, but 'No tasks' listed. So I assume the data is there somewhere, just not visible ...

Same here, I can see my categories with a number, but per category there aren't any tasks listed. This really has put a damper on my day. Everything I need to operate day to day is on that list, including the notes that I added. Sigh. I hope this gets fixed asap and that we haven't lost our data!

Same here, though I still got my e-mail reminders this morning. Just realizing how important it is to have some kind of backup - which I don't.
Please, Todoist, any info when things will be up and running again...?

I also have no data showing. I use this every day. To not have my task list is unacceptable. This needs to be fixed fast.

It seems this has happened to everyone then. Has anyone noticed it says "Delete Completed" in grey text on the right? And weirdly, the completed/ticked off items are still there and still viewable. But nothing which was still active. We were having trouble logging on to it for the last 4 days too. I'm guessing they're doing some work on it, and they've made a bit of an error. Let's hope its all backed up!

I had the same problem. I noticed, however, that there is an option at the bottom of each now-empty project to "get completed tasks", and when I do that, the application churns and churns, but slowly restores the missing data. Somehow, todoist must have marked all the tasks complete and deleted them. Restoring them works for now, but doesn't restore my confidence! Todoist, you owe all of us an explanation, whether we're using the paid or free version!

My data is completely gone... exactly the same as the other posts... I'm using the paid version...

A brief explanation youd be fine.

Thank you for your otherwise excellent product.

Looks like they are completed. Click on get completed tasks and unselect the ones you want. Worked for me.

Kahan is correct; the tasks are there but everything has been "completed." If I had more of a sense of humor, I might appreciate that I have no tasks.

my data is also gone, although it appears all the tasks are there if I click get completed tasks- although the hierarchy is completely gone and I can't restore sub-tasks. This is completely unacceptable.

Same here - does anyone know if todoist has issued an official statement about what happened or when they expect the data to be restored? It would be days worth of work if all my todoist data was lost

Same thing here... the tasks are in my projects, but are all marked completed. Even the recurring tasks are not displaying.

At least I can finally get onto the support page and see that everyone else is having the same problem! It was timing out with a 504 error until about 5 minutes ago.

I too found some missing items under completed tasks...but not all of them, particularly those that are recurring tasks that I do every day. Not cool.

all of my projects still had the # of tasks written next to them. i tried adding a task called "test" to one project to see if that would force it to update or something, but instead it reset the number of tasks to 0. AH! that is not what i want at all! so no one else should try that.

i tried looking in "completed" like come people suggested, but none of my tasks are in there.

Everyone, look at the post they just made about db corruption.

I also note that tasks scheduled for far in the future (like, months away) have been marked "completed" too. WTF?

At LEAST Todoist staff should do was to give people an answer. This is ridiculous. You can restore your tasks from "completed tasks"... But still it is a pain in the ass. And they should let people know that! Its ridiculous. When I had a problem with survey monkey they sent me an answer in 2 MINUTES saying they were fixing the problem. The service here is TERRIBLE.

Hello,

we've recently experienced an outage followed by corruption issues with our database, which has marked all your tasks as completed and therefore they have been moved to the archive (see -> "Get completed tasks" at the bottom of the task list).

Please be aware, that none of your data has been lost. We are currently working on restoring all your tasks and projects and we will then merge them with any other tasks you've created recently so the will be no missing data at all.

We're very sorry you've experienced this issue, we assure you, we'll do everything to prevent such issue from happening in the future.

We will keep you up to date on the current progress in this thread:
