How do I archive a project?

JS

I'd like to remove a project from my sidebar without deleting all it's completed tasks. The dropdown menu that appears when I click on the gear offers a "Delete" option, but not "Archive". Is there any way to do this or a workaround?

If there's a way to select all completed tasks in a project and move them to another project, that would be fine too. What do you recommend?

Thank you!

Hello John,

unfortunately, it's not possible to archive an entire project right now, but thank you for the suggestion, we appreciate it and will consider it in future development.

As for moving multiple tasks between projects - that's possible. Press and hold Ctrl, while holding Ctrl select tasks with your mouse. Once you select the first task, a menu will appear at the top of the screen. Select all tasks you'd like to move, choose "Move to project" from this menu and choose which project would you like to move these tasks to.

Best regards,
David

This does not seem to work for completed tasks.

Indeed, this is only possible with current (not completed) tasks.

You can add this as a feature request in our Votebox.

Thank you for pointing it out.

Hi David,

as long as there is no elegant solution, you might want to work around in the following way:

Create a new project.
Undo all the task in the completed project.
If you press CTRL, you will find at the top of the site not only "move to project", but also "Change date". I change the date to "31 Dec 2015" (or you may want to change it to "no due date", then just leave it open) and klick "Change date".

Then mark the tasks with Ctrl and mouse and "Move to project" (the one you created for this archive purpose ...)

Kind regards
Chris
