Multiple users with gmail

AG

The automatic integration with email is not picking up on the fact that I have multiple users open in gmail

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?zx=syqh3v4csu57&shva=1#inbox

is a different user than

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#sent/1312462dddb3976a

Without todoist pulling the user id out when getting the gmail message id, it's sending me to my primary inbox and looking for the message (which doesn't exist). To get around this, I'd have to make my work log in my primary login, but this would significantly impede my experience around the web since I use my gmail as authentication in several places. Additionally, I'd only ever be able to track tasks from one email account since there is not account identifier stored in todoist.

Maybe you can make it so I can "enable" user switching in todoist and "warn" me that if I change the order the users are logged in, I may not be able to access my emails.

For me, the feature I think is a "must have" is pulling links to the specific gmail email when I create a task. Otherwise, I'm just choosing one product over another based on general ui/ux preference.

Please advise.

Hello Adam,

are you referring to the "Add email" function in the Todoist plugin?

You would like to add links to emails pointing to different Gmail accounts from one Todoist account?

This is indeed not possible right now as Gmail will either log you into the last used account for which you've chosen to "stay signed in" or to the login screen.

For now, you could create multiple Todoist accounts, one for each Gmail address.

We will consider adding a feature enabling switching between users in Todoist more easily in future development. Thank you for the suggestion, we appreciate it.

You're welcome to post a feature request in our Votebox:

David

I have exactly same problem as Adam - I'm using multiple Google accounts all the time and this makes Todoist impossible to use for me :-/

There is a far better alternative!!!
Just create chromium browser for each user name, and no need to log in or out anymore.
I have created 5 for all my accounts at makemybrowser.com and it is really convenient.
