Get Completed Tasks isn't working

L

My "get completed tasks" seems to be pointing to http://todoist.com/# - is that correct? It doesn't seem to be pulling all my checked tasks.

Hello Lou,

it should show you a list of your completed tasks.

Please tell me:
- Which browser and operating system you're using?
- Do you only see "Get completed tasks" or is there also the number of completed tasks, for example: "Get competed tasks (8)"?
- Do you have any ad- or script-blocking plugins installed in your browser?
- Does this happen when using a different browser?

Best regards,
David

I'm not sure if its just me - i use it primarily at work (it worked once before). I'm on a windows and I've tried both FF5 and Chrome. When I click it, nothing happens which is bizzare. I added a popup exception for todoist.com but that doesn't help. I don't have any other ad-blocking items.

Hello Lou,

The link you've mentioned in the first post (http://todoist.com/# ) is correct, it doesn't exactly point to any specific URL, it only triggers an action.

Does this happen right after you go into a project or after you've completed a task?

The only time I could reproduce a situation that it doesn't happen anything when clicking on it is once I've completed a task and it's the first main task I completed in this project. In this case it showed up directly on the bottom with a checkmark and and "Get completed" task didn't trigger any action because each next completed action already was showing up.

Once I refreshed the page or went to a different project and back, the link worked fine.

Is this the same situation you're experiencing this issue? Also, keep in mind that once the list is rolled out, you can't click "get completed" at all and finishing sub-tasks doesn't make them appear in the completed task list until the main task is completed.

Best regards,
David

One more thing - it also happens if you "complete" ONLY recurring tasks and don't have any other completed tasks as none of the recurring tasks are being shown as "complete" anyway.

Please let me know if this is the case.

I think one of your comments explains the issue and I might have been confused. I have several "tier 1" tasks which I use as 'projects'. I use a sub-task(indented) as the actual task itself. In this case you're saying that unless the parent task is checked it won't go to the "completed" area?

If this is true, then I must have imagined that functionality.

Yes, sub-tasks are not being "completed" until the parent task gets done.

If you want to use tasks as "projects" or "categories", please name the particular category using an asterisk * before the task name. This will create a "task" without a checkbox, which can work as a category. Then you can simply put "tier 1" tasks under it.

This way, you'll use sub-tasks only if really necessary and you'll get the functionality of a main task incl. putting it to the "completed" list upon finishing (unless it's recurring, of course).

David
