DateTime picker for Reminders doesn't work for non-English languages

JC

Hi,

While trying the new feature for setting up reminders through the dateTime picker, I realised it only works for English. I've tried Netherlands, French and English iOS configuration.

For Netherlands and French, I get an error following these steps:
1. I open the task and go to 'Reminders'
2. I select the proper date and time -> the relative date and time appears in my language
3. When I click ok, I get an error telling me the string is not correct. If I *manually* enter the text in English, it works fine.

It seems like the date time picker is localising the date and time when building the string, but the parser expects only English format.

Thanks,
Jonatan

Hi Jonatan,

Please make sure that your iOS device is using the correct Region as well as Language, as that would be the most likely cause for this error.

That can be found at the same page where you change the language.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi,

I've checked that but the error persists.
Under General | International, I have the following:
Language: Netherlands
Region: Netherlands | Netherlands

Thanks,
Jonatan

Hello Jonatan,

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this issue. I've set my device to Dutch (both language and region format) and tried to add 5 different reminders - relative (x before deadline) and absolute to different Dutch dates and times. All got added correctly.

That said, please tell me - what exact due date and time does the task have and what exact due date and time does the reminder have. What do you see being added to the date and time field?

Best regards,
David

Hello David,

Thanks so much for the quick answer. I've been carefully checking my settings and it was my fault as I had selected my mistake German culture.

Everything is working fine, both with relative and absolute dates.

Best regards,
Jonatan
