Bug: Reminders don't update on iOS apps

I have a task that has to be performed every Wednesday night, so I set it up for every Wednesday and set a reminder. I accidentally typed "ev Wed @ 9:00 AM" in the reminder field (or something very similar to that) originally. When I realized my error, I deleted the 9:00 A.M. reminders and set reminders for every Wednesday at 9:00 P.M. That was several weeks ago.

Looking at the task in the web version of Todoist, I see the 9:00 P.M. reminder and no other reminders, but the Todoist app on my iPhone keeps reminding me to do this task every Wednesday at 9:00 A.M.

My iPhone is definitely able to sync correctly with the webapp, other than this issue. This is clearly a bug that is causing the reminder times not to sync properly.

Hi Ed,

Please try logging out of the iPhone app and back in again. This should clear any cache type issues. Also, is it reminding you by notifications, or when you look at it, it says AM?

Thanks,
Brendon.

Brendon,

It has been reminding me by notifications at the wrong time (9 A.M.). I can't even find a way to view reminder times on the iPhone app -- is there one?

I logged out and logged back in, but I guess I can't test whether it worked until at least 9 P.M., when I should get a notification. The real test is whether I get a notification at 9 A.M. next Wednesday.

Thanks,
Ed

Ed,

We are aware of rare issues such as this, which we believe we have found the solution but it has not be released yet. Assuming this is related, it should eventually be fixed.

For now, please let me know if it happens again.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Brendon,

I did not get the reminder I expected last Wednesday night, but I did get another reminder this morning. I think it's safe to say there's still a bug.

For now, I have deleted and recreated the task and its reminder.

Best,
Ed

Brendon,

Just to follow up on this: even though I deleted the task that was causing the faulty reminders, I am still getting reminders every Wednesday morning.

Best,
Ed

Hello Ed,

We're sorry to hear that. We're currently working on a big update which will affect all our platforms and include a rewrite of some of our mechanisms incl. reminder and notification handling. It should be available relatively soon (1-2 months) and fix these issues. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David
