Adding SubTasks in iPhone

Is there a way to add a subtask to an existing task on the iphone? I see how to mark a task a sub task but not how to associate it with another task so it becomes a sub task of a parent task.

Also, how and where do I see completed tasks on the iphone?

Thank you.

Hello Scott,

To change the indent level of an existing task to make it a sub-task, please tap on it, go to "Edit" and one of the menu elements (the one at the bottom) will allow you to select an indent level. Pick one, save the task and it will be a sub-task. You can then drag & drop it (long-press and hold the task) to move it below any task you would like to become the parent task of it.

Unfortunately, it's currently not possible to view completed tasks on the iOS app, but we'll consider adding such option to our mobile apps and you're welcome to vote for this request in our Votebox: https://todoist.com/Vote_iOS/showProposal/7/

This post is about a year old, and the votebox is closed, but I feel this should be a high priority for Todoist to fix. If you have a feature it should work similarly on the desktop and the mobile app. Right now, if I have a Priority 1 task on the desktop with many subtasks I can click a little triangle and see them all, but on the iPhone (looking in my list of Priority 1 tasks) I don't even see that those subtasks exist! There isn't any way to see them or access them except to go back to the top level and find the project list...

In another thread they say that they are going to fix this, although it isn't clear when:

"Sub-tasks will show as separate tasks in date-based views or any other search results on any platform. We will add better sub-task support in these views so that you'll be able to collapse/expand the parent task just as on the web."

Glad to hear it. I was about to delete the app because it was not behaving as expected, but maybe I'll wait a bit..

Hello Kerim,

We're sorry for the delays, for the last year we kept shuffling between implementing new features on iOS so that more features won't miss and at the same time add some of the missing once, though we haven't got to this one yet, unfortunately, but we're confident that we will in near future. Sorry for the inconvenience.
