Include the Outlook email detail In the task in ipad app and in the android app

HF

I add all of my tasks from emails in Outlook using the Outlook app. In Outlook, the email details are accessible when I click on the task. When I access those tasks in the iPad and Android apps, the email content is not accessible. It would be great to have as much of the email content, even as text, and truncated if necessary available in the iPad and Android apps. Remember the Milk does this by making the email content a "note" which is part of the task. Can you please do this too?

Hello Howard,

This feature is already available on Todoist. There are two ways to add emails as task:

1. Linking them using one of our plugins - this will only make the message accessible when using the same plugin.

2. Forwarding mails to your projects via email - this will convert the entire body of the message to a task note making it accessible from anywhere.

Please refer to this post on our blog explaining both options in detail: https://todoist.com/blog/2013/01/zero-inbox-policy-with-todoist/

Best regards,
David

Wow! I wish I knew that before I added 100 tasks to 25 projects in Outlook.
Is there a quick way to download the email addresses for 25 projects? Or must one ascertain each email address one by one?

Howard,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to get these addresses at once.

You don't even have to use all of them, you can send all emails to your Inbox project and then quickly drag & drop them to other projects through the web-interface, but of course you can also add Todoist's email addresses as contacts to quickly forward messages to them right-away.

Best regards,
David

Right and very helpful.

Will there ever be a Windows App other than via an Internet Browser? The Outlook add in is somewhat limited in functionality. I want to see more projects and tasks on the screen at one time, and the Outlook Addin only shows a 1 column list. Evernote does a good job with their companion Windows app. Any plans for this?

Howard,

You can find the latest version of our Windows app right here, https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/5023a6d6c92501bdfb0e00969703a767/as/Todoist_for_Windows.exe

This is an updated, unreleased version. You can normally find it at http://www.todoist.com/windows

Though again, all Todoist platforms offer 1 column view, and if you search for "viewall" you can see all your tasks at once.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Fantastic! Thanks.
One last question for today: Once a task has been created, can a task note be added to it? If so how? Also a file attachment?

Howard,

Yes, once the task has been created it acts like any other task that you manually create. So if you hover over the task name, you should see the note icon appear, and clicking this will allow you to add a note and attach a file.

Though to be clear, that attachment/note will not sync with the email in your email account.

Thanks,
Brendon.
