Possible to set more than one reminder for a task in a given day?

CD

I'd like to be able to set more than one "absolute" reminder for a task in a given day. I have other "todo" apps that provide a "snooze" option, or the ability to repeat a reminder during the same day at intervals the user selects.

I've tried doing this with absolute reminders in Todoist, but either the option doesn't exist, or I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Since I'm more likely to use this option when I'm using my phone, I included the query here, on your iPhone support page.

Hello Cliff,

Please try to type <remind tod at 2pm> within the task's name, save it, then edit it and add <remind to at 3pm>, go to the web-app and see if both reminders have been added to this task (by right-clicking on it and going to the "reminders" menu.

We're working on adding a UI for reminders to our mobile apps which will allow you to use an "Add reminder" button multiple times adding a place to set it up each time.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

I followed your instructions, but when I checked the reminders menu for that task on the web-app, there was nothing to show I had added those reminders. Incidentally, I'm guessing the two reminder entries "confused" the mobile app as my phone did not deliver either alert.

Cliff,

If you add these reminders on the web-app does it sync with the iPhone without issue? Do you receive the reminders.

Which version of iOS are you using?

Thanks,
Brendon.

Using iOS 6.1.3 on my phone.

Yes, adding reminders on the web-app syncs fine with my iPhone (can add multiple reminders as well, either through the "reminders" menu, or by adding the alerts after the task name using the <> keys).

Oddly, I have a task that I keep getting reminders for today, that I don't recall even setting any reminders for! I added the task on my phone last night, and it has been going off randomly all day today. I checked, and there's no indication of any reminder attached to the task. Not sure what that's all about.

BTW, I notice that on the web app, sometimes after the reminder has gone off, the small alarm icon indicating a reminder was attached to the task remains: at other times, the alarm icon disappears after the reminder has gone off. This doesn't appear to be related to whether I log out and log in again. Just wondering.

Cliff,

Thanks for the information.

Please try uninstalling the iOS app and reinstalling the latest version from the App Store. Let me know if you still have issues after doing so.

Thanks,
Brendon.

I'm presently using v 6.0.1 of your iPhone app. Isn't that the latest?

Cliff,

Yes, I was just making sure that you would reinstall the latest. The uninstall and reinstall could help. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Brendon.

I've reinstalled the app on my iPhone and iPad: hopefully that will remedy the rogue reminders! I'll get back to you if the problem persists. Thanks, Brendon.

Hi guys, is there an option to set multiple time reminders as a standard default setup so whenever I create any task, it will be set automatically? If not, are you working on that and do you have an estimated time for delivery?

Hi,

There is a default of 30 minutes. SO if the due date is "Today at 2pm" you will get one 30 minutes before then. It's not changeable at this time though. We will consider more options in the future.

Regards,
Brendon.
