iPad App Beta Feedback

AW

Hi,

Not sure where you wanted to collect feedback on the beta iPad app, so thought I'd just start a general thread here.

Overall, the app looks good and works well. I like that you've adhered to the simple, streamlined design. I could think of a number of "enhancements" (e.g., the ability to add your own shortcuts for queries, such as Next 3 days, instead of Next 7, etc), but I'll leave that for now and just focus on my top three requests around current functionality:

1) Calendar Widget
For scheduling tasks, the app really needs a true calendar widget (which shows days of the week). The current widget, which allows the user to select month/day/year by scrolling wheels, isn't particularly helpful. When I schedule tasks, the day of the week is important.

2) Schedule for today
I noticed that you can mark a past-due task as due for today by clicking on the Task, then Edit > Calendar Widget > Today > Check. That's five clicks, which is way too much. I'd like there to be an easier way to schedule a task for today. The postpone button is great -- I recommend adding a button directly to the left of this which would schedule the task for today.

3) Delayed Sync.
This is more of an FYI, because it isn't too much of a bother. When I attempt to sync ToDoIst by dragging the task list down, the app APPEARS to sync. When I click on the Settings wheel, the caption in the lower-left corner indicates the sync was successful (e.g., "Last synced: 3 seconds ago). However, the sync didn't really happen yet. It takes another 15-20 seconds for the sync to actually happen and register on-screen. This is a little misleading, so I'd recommend fixing it. However, so long as this is consistent, I can adapt.

Hope this is helpful. Thanks to the development and support crew for working on this, launching it, and collecting feedback.

Cheers,

Ashley

Hello Ashley,

Thank you very much for your feedback, I've passed it completely to the developer and we'll keep it in mind for the next updates :)
