Arrange by Due Time

BC

Hi

In my 'Next 7 Days' view on ios, the tasks are not arranged by due time. So, I have 8 tasks due 'tomorrow', 7 of which have times assigned to them. But they are not appearing in chronological order?

It seems logical they would/should be.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Brian

Incidentally, I've set up a filter 'tomorrow' and they arrange chronologically fine in that list

Hello Brian,

Thank you for your report. Please try to uninstall and reinstall the app and see if this fixes the issue.

We will soon release an updated version of our app which should address many issues incl, this one.

Best regards,
David

Hi David

That didn't solve the problem unfortunately.

Any idea when the new release is due, because this is a bit of a deal breaker for me. I've set up filters for Today, Tomorrow and Next 7 Days, and they all work fine, and the tasks arrange chronologically as you'd expect. It's a great workaround, but I don't really want to have to use a workaround and click out and into my filters to arrange my tasks all the time.

One quick other question (unrelated). Is it possible to choose what time you get your daily digest email? I'm already half way through my day by the time it arrives.

Thanks

Brian

Brian,

We're sorry for the inconvenience. The new version is almost done. We've extended your Premium time by 1 month as a reimbursement.

Reg. the Daily Digest - we will consider adding such option in the future and you're welcome to vote for it in our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/showProposal/478/

Best regards,
David

Kamran,

Please log out of the app, clear the data for it (through Android Settings) and try again. Same goes for Chrome, clear the cache and offline data. Normally this may not help, but there have been many changes in the background recently.

Brendon.

It worked for few moments after doing what you said.
However I can see, they are still random now!

Hello Kamran,

Please tell me - are you using the Chrome extension and the full web-app also in Chrome simultaneously? If so, after clearing Todoist's offline data in Chrome's Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data and reloading Chrome, please only use either just the extension or just the web-app.

Also, to clarify - you've reinstalled the Android app, signed in, went to which view, saw them ordered correctly and then at some point they have automatically changes their order and you saw this change?

Best regards,
David

Yes I did what you said & it works well only for few moments. (Had to manually SIRT BY DATE) every-time.

Nope. I Just use Chrome Extension & the Android App alone.
Never used them Simultaneously.

I did Re-installed Android App & it reflects what I had did for the Chrome Extension (i.e. sort by date)

But As I said, for few moments only.

Also, I guess am the only one facing too much of issues with Todoist (doesn't mean am leaving anytime). Too many support tickets opened in my Name.

And before posting issues here, I did all the basics I should do.
Trust me am a Web Developer. -_-;

Kamran,

Just to clarify - you use the sort by date option, it sorts correctly and then a few moments later you see how all your tasks sort randomly on their own?

Please note that the "sort by date" option is not a switch that you can set to automatically resort every new task you add, you have to use this option every time you want to sort your tasks by date, it triggers once when you use it, but doesn't set a fixed order. There's a keyboard shortcut "s" which you can use to quickly resort the list when you add new tasks.

Best regards,
David

I understand, but it should sort it by Date, by default right?
Or Do I need to Sort by Date, everytime?

I guess, I don't know what to do?

Kamran,

That is correct. The Sort By Date option within a project has to be done each time a new task is added, its not automatic. There is no default sort for within projects.

Brendon.

So the Task doesn't sort by Due Dates?
Asking for Team Inbox

Kamran,

If dealing with Projects, including Team Inbox, it does not sort, it stay how you add tasks, until you use the Sort By Date option.

If on the Today view, or any date based views, its automatically sorted by due date then priority.

Brendon.
