Todoist Next does not advance to next day

P

Hi,
After upgrading to the Next version for Android, the widget does not advance to the next day unless I open the app, or if the widget has to reload itself because of lack of available resources.

(I open the app by clicking the TD in the top left corner of the widget, if that makes any difference).

What I mean is that the widget shows yesterday as being today, even if it's 10 am the next day. So at 10 am Friday it showed that I have no tasks for "today, Thursday".

This, or possibly some other problem, also seems to affect the notifications/reminders. I did not get my reminder at 9 am, for the task that should be completed at 9:30 am every Saturday morning. The widget still showed Friday as being "today", unrelated to this problem or not.

The reminder is still there when I look at the task, so it has not disappeared - as I've seen other users reporting. It's there and configured, both on the web and Android.

Hi Patrik,

Have you removed the widget, and cleared the data for the app since the Next update? I would suggest giving that a try.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi,
Now I've tried again after deleting widget, clearing both the cache and data and then reconfigured app and added widget.

It's 15 minutes past midnight, but it has not yet moved to the next day. It seems that it only does that when I interact with the widget, by clicking on a task or launching the app.

I've added a dummy task with a reminder for tomorrow morning, just to see if that works this time.

Okay, we're now more than 9 hours in to a new day and the widget has updated - "today" is actually today. It's possible that I caused the reload by scrolling to the home page where the widget is located.

My reminder test failed once more. It was set to go off 10 minutes ago. I'll do another test tomorrow, where I'll make sure to "reload" the widget before the time of the reminder.

Any other ideas?

Hello Patrik,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, there will be an update to version 3.0.6 soon (most likely today). Let us know if the issues persist in this new version.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

I noticed that the widget seems to be working well now, however the Outlook plugin is showing this same behavior. I often leave my Outlook up for a week at a time, even when I sleep my computer between work days.

PS - Thank you to you and all the other developers for all your hard work lately (especially on the big issue earlier this week).

Hi,

The widget seems to be working now, but I still don't get my reminder. Another Saturday morning without a reminder for my repeating task.

I was on 3.0.8 when the reminder should have arrived, but now on 3.0.9

Hello Patrik,

Please tell me, what's the exact date and time of the task and date, time and type of the reminder? Also, does re-adding it for this task help?

Best regards,
David

Hi,

You know what, I'm going to have to re-add it. I see now that the reminder has disappeared for this repeating task, set with a due date of "every saturday @ 9:30". I'm sure the alarm symbol was there after some of the latest updates, but not anymore.

It was a mobile notification set 30 minutes before due date. But I don't think it matters now, re-adding will probably work (at least until an update of the app)
