push notifications not working

M

I am a new Todoist user (premium) and tried the "send a test message" link in settings on the web. What is this supposed to do exactly? It isn't pushing a notification on my Android app.

Note: In my "manage my devices" section of settings in the web app, my phone (SCH-I605) is listed twice.

Hello Mark,

This should indeed sent you a push notification to test if it works. Please try to delete your device from the list (both of them, that is - both copies), delete the Android app, then reinstall it, log in, add and sync one task from the device and retry sending the test (after reloading the web page).

Best regards,
David

I tried what you suggested:

- uninstalled Android app from my device
- deleted both instances of devices listed in settings
- re-installed Android app
- logged into Android app
- restarted Chrome
- went to settings and clicked "send a test message"

No push notification was sent to phone.

However, I just tried adding a reminder (push notification) to a task, and it seemed to work fine. Strange. So, it appears that its simply the "send a test message" feature that isn't working for me. That's ok, I guess.

Hello Pratik,

Please tell me - do you see your Android device listed on the web in Settings -> Reminders? If not - try to reinstall our app, log into it and sync.

Best regards,
David

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem, though the push notifications seem to work sporadically. I have several recurring tasks that I have programmed to set reminders (the primary reason I purchased the premium account), and it is possible that these are the only tasks for which push notifications are not working. The test message isn't working with my Galaxy S 3.

Well, they seem to be working now. It looked like my reminders weren't syncing between the web interface and the phone, I had to manually set the reminders on the phone.
