Mobile push notification only on wifi

TD

Hello,
Can you tell me if you have meet this kind of problem.

My SMS notification works perfectly, but when I try to send test push notification (from Todoist.com, top right corner, clicked on the gear icon --> Settings --> Reminders --> send test notification) only what i get is silence.
When I turn my wifi (in home) on - push notification is alive!

For sure it's strange, my mobile internet works great, only issue i have is with Tosodist push notification.

To avoid question from staff, I've already done:
--> clear me cache,
--> uninstall,
--> install again Android app,
--> in app: Settings/Notification - ON,
--> in app: Settings/Todoist/Default reminder - Mobile notification.
--> in Todoist.com, top right corner and clicked on the gear icon --> Settings/Reminders/Default Reminder - Mobile Push.

Thanks in advance for help.

Hi Tomasz,

To clarify, all notifications work except for PUSH on mobile data? That is a unique issue. Normally we see issues with notifications on WiFi networks, as they can sometimes have security measures.

Can I ask which mobile provider you are using, does it have any kind of security, maybe an app installed for Android?

Regards,
Brendon.

My mobile provider is - Poland T-mobile.
I'm not aware of any kind of security, from my provider.
Ffor example "Daily review" works correct, but I don't know if this notification works by push system.

Hello Tomasz,

Our push notifications are sent via the internet through Google's servers so the only issue that could cause this would be if your mobile network couldn't connect to the internet to accept an incoming notification-type message.

As Brendon mentioned, that's unusual and in fact the first report of this kind. I will pass it to our developers, but before I do, please tell me - do you see your device at the bottom of the list in the web-app's Settings -> Reminders? Only then will it be capable of receiving push notifications correctly?

Best regards,
David

David,
Yes, I see my device at the bottom on mentioned list:
"Nexus 4"
I try to delete that device and try one more time to sync, but no success.

Thanks for solving the issue.

Tomasz,

Please note, if you have removed that device listing, you will need to re-install the mobile app again, as now sync will for sure not work.

Regards,
Brendon.

Brendon,
- Device removed from Settings,
- on Android app re-installed.

Nothing happened - still only wifi reminders works.

Tomasz,

The only options that could cause this are:
- not being connected to 3G/4G at the time the notification may arrive
- Google server/delivery issues.

Right now we're working on a big update to our service which will be released in near future and address this issue as it will make notifications independent from network connectivity (generated offline by the app just as the "Daily review").

Best regards,
David
