Overdue recurring task won't complete

W

I've set up a recurring task with the due dates falling on "every 2nd 4th Wednesday".
I missed the most recent cycle on September 25th and only got around to completing it today. But when I click the check mark in the Android app, all I see is "Complete The next occurrence will be on Wed 25 Sep.", without the task refreshing for next occurrence. I've tried it many times without avail.

Now that I'm on my desktop, I pressed the check button on that task and the task has been refreshed with a new due date of October 23rd! I think the few "completed" actions that I took on my Android phone were registered somewhere in the server and made the new due date jump 3 cycles.

Any fix for this?

Hello W,

Unfortunately, "every 2nd 4th Wednesday" is not a valid due date. I have passed this issue to the developers and we will display the "Invalid date" error message when trying to set such date.

The only workaround for this is to create two separate tasks with the same name - one due "every 2nd Wed" and the other due "ev 4th Wed".

Best regards,
David

@ David,
Thanks for the reply. In the long run, however, I'd like to see recurrence that involves "every nth" pattern. It's useful and something I miss from the Astrid days.

W,

We will consider adding more date options in the future, but just to clarify - this recurrence works already, but not when combined with multiple patterns for the same month. So if you would create 2 tasks with the same name as mentioned above, the first one will always recur on every 2nd Wednesday and the other one on every 4th Wednesday - both would work, they just won't work as a single task due "ev 2nd 4th Wed" combined.

Best regards,
David
