Unable to set relative reminders
I have a task set up with a due date. I go to to Reminders -> Remind Me -> Before a task's due date. I get the error message "Set the due date in the task to use relative time". Am I missing something here?
This only happens when I set up a relative reminder on a task that has already been entered. If I enter the task and set up the reminder at the same time it works find.
Relative reminders require a task to have a time set to it and not just a date, so something such as "today at 2pm" will be able to have a relative reminder attached to it.
Please make sure you are doing this and you should have no issue adding the reminder you want. This is the same for a new task or one already entered.
Then there is a bug one way or the other:
I can definitely set up a new task with a due date but no time (lets say 6 Sep) then go to reminder -> before task's due date -> 2 days, save. It saves it.
If I then edit the task, remove the reminder, I cannot add a relative reminder.
The error message should reflect the need for a time in the due date.
Yes, your device should not be allowing this to happen. When you try to add "before a tasks due date" relative reminder to a task that does not a time, it gives a message saying to do so.
Which Android device do you have, which version of Android is it running? Are you using out latest app version?
Galaxy Nexus (GT-i9250 "Maguro"), Android 4.3, Todoist 2.0.4
Thank you for this information, we've passed it to the developer. Currently, our app doesn't check the due date of a task when you're adding a new task, that's why it allows you to set a relative reminder for it. We'll look into this.
