Possible bug with the recurring date "every last day of the month"

I made a task with the recurring date "every last day of the month". Yesterday (on August 31st), I checked off this task to complete it in the Android app, but it remained as "incomplete" and kept showing that the next time it would need to be completed was August 31st (the day itself). Checking it off worked in the web app though (it then correctly showed that the next due date for this recurring task was September 30th).

Hello Yi,

Please note that "every last day of the month" is not a valid due date formula. Please use "every last day" or just "ev lday" and see if the issue persists.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

I'll try one of the two options you gave me, thanks.

However, if it's the case that "every last day of the month" is not a valid due date formula, it should throw the "Invalid date" error (which it doesn't). IMO it's bad UX to let the user think that a date formula is valid when it actually isn't.

Yi,

I have passed this issue to the developers, we'll look into it.

Yi,

Could you please clarify which version of our app and which version of Android you're using as we can't reproduce this issue in the latest version 2.0.4. When I try to type in "every last day of the month" it shows me the "Couldn't understand your due date" error message.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

I believe I created the task in the web app (I have the free version) and attempted to complete it in the Android app (v2.0.4; I'm on Android 4.1.1).

Thanks,
Yi Qing

I just tried using that due date in the web app and it accepts it as valid.

Yi,

Thank you for the confirmation, I can reproduce it now. It seems that the Android app can't handle it as on the web it seems to work fine. We'll look into it and add full support for it on Android or make it invalid on the web.

Best regards,
David
