How to snooze task notification?

A

Hey!
How can I snooze a task notification?
Whenever I am getting a notification I either click on it and ToDoIst opens or I simple minimize my notification list. In both cases, I don't get a 2nd notification. My notification is set 30 minutes in advance.
My android is 4.0.3

Hi Alexander,

Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to snooze a notification at this time. Feel free to add that to our votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote_Android/

If your task has a time set, you could set another relative reminder to that task, 10 minutes before. This way you would have a reminder at 30 minutes, and at 10 minutes. Of course your task would need a time set, not just a date for this to work.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hello Alexander,

If you're referring to snoozing just the push notification itself, then this is possible and even configurable (you can set for how long you want your notifications to be snoozed).

However, please note that this is only a feature on Android Jelly Bean.

Best regards,
David

The latest version my phone can go is Android 4.1. Is this version of Jelly Bean compatible with snoozing of tasks ? (I was actually referring to snoozing of push notifications, however, didn't know how to phrase it properly).

Alexander,

Yes, you should be able to snooze a push notification on Android 4.1. This is how a notification should look like: https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/5d4898472c7da9c3d3afdb08bc1fa8fb/as/Todoist_Android_JBnotification.png as you see - on the right side, there's "Snoo..." which stands for "Snooze" and within the app's settings, you can choose the snooze duration: https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/473fea45dbf12a22f36654eebb9bc235/as/Android_Snooze.png

Best regards,
David

Dear David,

I don't have Jelly Bean on my phone as of yet. I should update my phone today ~ tomorrow so I will post back with my results.

Sincerely,
Alexander.

i have a galaxy note 4 with jelly bean. My screen looks nothing like the GS3 you showed; when I select a task I get 5 options at the bottom; I can select schedule and select a different date and/or time, but I don't see a snooze option anywhere. Is this still avaialble?

Hello Asa,

Yes, snoozing is still available, but it's an option for task reminders. What you've described is the standard task actions menu within the app, but the "Snooze" option is in the reminder itself.

That is - if you get a reminder and go to your phone's notifications area - that's where you'll see what I've shown on the screenshots :-)

Best regards,
David

It would be nice in the snooze email if there were a set of defined snooze buttons you could use to auto snooze the task. for example:

Minutes: 30mi, 45mi
Hours: 1h, 3h, 5h, 7h, 9h, 12h, 18h
Days: 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d, 5d, 6d
Weeks: 1w, 2w, 3w, 4w
Months: 1mo, 2mo, 3mo, 6mo, 1yr
Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr, Sa, Su
