Latest version works fine on my Samsung Galaxy s III.
Features I miss:
Widget
Notes
Totally black theme
Custom notification sound
Jelly bean: Use the extended notification function to mark a task as done when due time is reached.

I thought notifications should work in this version. Isn`t that correct?
In the change log to version 0.5.1 it says: "Notifications use the system default ringtone / vibrate / lights setting"

Hello, if beta 0.5.0.2 is the latest update then the crash on trying to add a task is not fixed. it crashes every time I try to add a task.

Marius,

yes, such notifications should work. I'll ask the developers about it.

Dan,

yes, 0.5.0.2 is the latest version and you're right, I've now been able to reproduce this issue. It seems to happen primarily when adding a task from within a project. Thank you for your report.

David

Marius,

please tell me - if you have a reminder set to "mobile" and are logged into the Todoist app on your phone, do you get notified using the phone's own notification system?

Best regards,
David

How do I set a reminder to mobile? I get notified about everything else on my phone.
By the way I have also experienced an issue where a task was not synced between my mobile phone and PC.
Otherwise I really like the app.
Keep up the good work!

Marius,

you can set a reminder to mobile in Todoist Preferences (gear icon in the top-right corner) -> Reminders on the web-app. You can choose either "email" or "mobile" by default. You can also set each individual reminder to mobile or email.

As for the sync issue - could you please explain in detail how did you add it (on the PC or on mobile)? What date did it have? Did it have any labels? Did you synchronize the mobile app?

Best regards,
David

No, I hadn`t done that. I have done it now, but I still not get any notifications on my phone.
I tried send a test notification in the settings on the web app, but I don`t receive it either.

I have got the reminders to work! Wow! I have set mobile phone as default reminder, but when I click on a task to set a reminder in the web app, email is allways the default. How to change this to mobile sms?
As noticed before I have noticed some sync issues. Not all changes/task from the web app are synced automatically to my phone. The task contained a subject, label, project, priority Normal and indent none.

If i have a task due at 09:00 how do I set the reminder to go off at the same time in the mobile app?

setting a reminder like this <remind at 09:15> in the web app does not work on my phone.

BUG!
I tried to add a custom filter (Tod, Od) and now the app crashes everytime I click the "Filters" button.

It is not syncing properly on my device. Several done tasks (on PC) are still open in the phone version. Even after close and restart of the app i can not sync correct.

Also several times I could not open a project. I had to close and restart again to be able to go into a project.

Marius,

in order to set "mobile" as default, please go to Todoist Preferences -> Reminders and set the "Default reminder" to "mobile phone".

If you want to set a reminder to a specific time, either type <remind today at 9:00> within the task name or right-click on the added task, choose "Reminders", make sure it's an "Absolute reminder", pick "mobile" from the drop-down menu and set teh reminder to "today at 9:00" (or any other single or recurring date format supported by Todoist.

Please note that the <remind> tag is not supported in the current Android app and can only be used through the web-app.

As for the custom filters bug - thank you very much for your report, I've been able to reproduce this issue and have passed it to the developers. Please try to go to your phone's Apps settings and clear Todoist's cache/offline data.

Dan,

are the tasks that you're referring to checked-off sub-tasks or can you reproduce this issue by adding a new test-task, then synchronizing the Android app, then checking off this task on your PC and then after you synchronize the Adnroid app again, it won't disappear from the list as it does on the PC?

David

Hi David

Now that you ask, they are only checked-off sub-tasks.
Otherwise it syncs good.

Similar issue as Dan W. @ Oct 6 08:31. In fact, many of my checked off sub-tasks from several weeks ago are still showing.

Thank you for all of your good work, as usual. This is going to be a very good app.

Dan,

please clarify - do you still have the checked off sub-tasks on your active task list on the web-app or have they been moved to history (if they were checked off while holding the SHIFT key)?

David

Hello David
If a sub-task is checked off on PC side but not moved to history, it shows still open on the 'droid app side and shows still on the PC.

If I check off the same sub-task on the 'droid side, it disappears on 'droid and PC side.

It makes no difference if dated sub-task or not.

Besides, it's a beautiful app to work with. Great job.
Can't wait though to be able to add tasks in the app too, in the moment it keeps constantly crashing if I try.

Dan,

thank you for clarifying this. We are working on a consistent solution so that the Android app will display completed sub-tasks properly.

We're also working on the task adding bug which crashes the app upon trying to add a task.

Best regards,
David

Updated to 5.0.2. App loads, trys to sync (i see the circle going around), then immediately force closes.

previous version worked great, so i re-installed that.

And now suddenly i can not bring the app to run again. Even deinstall and reinstall helped. I get only a white screen for a moment and then it crashes.

Dan,

please try to just clear the app's cache and see if the issue persists and if it does, clear the cache again and then uninstall and reinstall the app and let me know if it helps.

David,

I did exactly as you wrote, including the deinstall and reinstall part. First i got the log in screen, then it tries to sync and then it crashes. When I try to open it again, all I get is a blank screen for a moment and then it crashes.

Dan,

unfortunately, we can't reproduce this. Please tell me:
- Which version of Android are you using?
- How does the app crash? Does it show the standard "Unfortunately Todoist has stopped" message?

Also, can you remember if there was any specific action you took before this happened? For example - did you add a new task to your list which contains any special characters or a project with a very long name or anything that could theoretically be identified as the potential reason why the app crashed at sync?

David

David,

I use Android 2.3.4. I never could add a task so that is ruled out. As I remember I was looking into a project.
and , it always says (I use the German version on my phone): Sorry Die Anwendung todoist (Prozess com.todoist) wurde unerwartet beendet. Versuchen Sie es erneut.

Dan,

could you please go to your App Settings -> Todoist and let me know what version number do you see there?

I've actually been able to reproduce the issue exactly as you describe with the old 0.4.2 version. The new version did let me log in, but for some reason I couldn't update it to the latest 0.5.0.4.

Dan,

thank you for this information, I will pass it to the developers. It seems that our update system might have failed as you were supposed to be asked by the app (upon logging in) if you want to perform an upgrade to 0.5.0.4.

David,

that might well be so. On the other hand, when I try to start the app it crashes while building completely up. Maybe there is not time enough for the update system to unfold.

Dan,

it's possible. We may release another update soon or publish the final version already (we're planning a launch this month) and we would greatly appreciate your feedback once you receive the latest stand-alone release (unfortunately, the 0.5.0.4 version had to be installed through an in-app update).
