Comprehensive feedback on the beta android app!

B

I have just installed the beta version of todois for android i use Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) with Android 4.0.4

It stopped onece when trying to reorder a test task of the tutorial
it actually does freeze every time when i try to reorder them
[solved] after restarting the mobile it works all fine! ;]

overall i think its very good, deffinitely a lot better thank all the other ones on google play, I tried most of them (even three paid ones)

i would make it that when i click on a project, label or filter from the side menu it would hide the side menu automatically and show me the relevant content, because now i need to hide the menu after selecting a project etc..

also another very important thing! i would add options to change the indent level from the one click menu (where done, postpone, notes and edit is right now) instead of edit menu, because it would speed up rearranging tasks a lot

also in the project view i would remove the project name from underneath every task, it just takes up space! and would add some settings which would allow to choose the layout so I could choose how compact the list would be

at this point the app froze again after adding a new task...

also option to collapse a folder with subtasks would be veery helpful as these lists do tend to get looong, and it would be grat if it could match the online version

... froze again when adding a new task
and again...
crated a new project and it added the first task ok,
it froze when i tried to add another task.... and stops every other time (tried a few times)
after a restart: i can see two tasks in that new project now (so one of the above times must have been succesfull, even though it sopped)
... now it sopped then i tried to open the above project...
wierd, now i can see only one task in that project...

!!!!!! SOLUTION TO THE ABOVE !!!!!!
hmmm strange, it stops when i try to add a new tasks but only when i fill the 'content' field [corection] it stops when i leave priority empty!! if i select priority it adds tasks all OK!!! solved it ;D
!!!!!!!!!!

and replying to your questions:

--- How does the mobile app compare to the web version of Todoist?

it is lacking option to fold folders
the project name under every task in unnecassairy in a project view and takes up too much space
the side menu should hide after selecting someting

--- What you think of the user interface? Is it easy to use?

user interface is good

--- Did your mobile and web-based to-do list sync properly?

i think it has problems with sincing the done / undone tasks between the web and android version (can provide more info as it seams more complicated and works differently depending on where i make changes...

--- Did you notice any bugs in the app?

it keeps freezing when i try to add new tasks, also

--- What features would you like to see in future?

as mentioned in the answer to the first question:
it is lacking option to fold folders
the project name under every task in unnecassairy in a project view and takes up too much space
the side menu should hide after selecting someting

--- Is there anything else you want to say your experience with the app?

a widget showing top tasks would be nice too!

Hello Mark,

thank you very much for you r feedback, we greatly appreciate it.

Unfortunately, there is indeed a bug which makes the app crash after adding a task, we're working on it right now.

We will consider some of your feature suggestions. The reason why there is no option which would automatically roll out the tasks after clicking on a project or a label is because if you click on the pencil icon at the top while in project or label view, you will see options to edit each project or label next to its name which would require precise navigation when trying to edit it as a misclick on the name would already show the tasks.

Best regards,
David

Hello Bart,

unfortunately, the launch has been slightly delayed. We want to provide the best quality app we can make. The good news is, it's just a matter of polishing some details and we're planning to launch it in 2 weeks.
